Gary Arnold
Director of Programs, PCIL
Mr. Arnold currently serves as the Program Director for Progress Center for Independent Living. Progress Center is one of a network of 22 Centers across Illinois. Centers for Independent Living connect people with disabilities to services and support, and challenge physical and social barriers to independence. The Progress Center serves suburban Cook County. Gary is the immediate past president of Little People of America, a national membership-based organization for people with dwarfism and their families. With Little People of America, Gary concentrated on engaging with national disability rights organizations around common issues, and on addressing traditional stigma and stereotypes within the dwarfism community. He currently represents Little People of America on the National Disability Leadership Alliance Steering Committee. The steering committee is a group of national, membership-based, disability led advocacy and service organizations. Gary is also the co-chair of the Board of Directors for the Crossroads Fund, a foundation dedicated to supporting social justice work of smaller, grassroots organizations.
