Dr. Miloš Žefran

Dr. Miloš Žefran is the Director of the Robotics Lab and Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research interests are in robotics and control with applications to human-robot interaction, haptics, medical training, and cyber-physical systems. Dr. Žefran’s research has been supported by a National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award and a number of subsequent NSF awards. He is currently directing a project on making robots easy to use for the elderly. The particular focus of the project are activities where the robot and the human are in direct physical contact and interact through a multitude of sensory modalities. The research involves both implementation on a robot as well as extensive human studies. Dr. Žefran has published almost 100 journal and conference papers.
