ABOUT THE SMART SELF RELIANCE INITIATIVE
Empowering older adults and people with disabilities to live more independently
OUR MISSION
Improve the independence of older adults and people with disabilities by facilitating their use of smart devices and services.
The Smart Self Reliance initiative is a collaboration between Illinois nonprofit organizations and universities to pursue research, development, education and outreach projects that advance the use of smart devices and services among these consumers. This website and the resources found here were made possible by the generous support of the Illinois Science & Energy Innovation Foundation, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, Google and other independent and corporate foundations.
